British born, Nicola is a self taught Sydney based artist working out of her studio on the Northern Beaches.

She is a finalist in the 2025 Waverley Woollahra Art School 9x5 Landscape Art prize, and has been a finalist in The Northern Beaches Environmental Art Prize 2023, The Little Things Art Prize 2023 and in both NEAP 2021 and 2022 prizes.

Her work has featured on clothing collections with Melbourne based ethical label Nancybird.

She draws inspiration from Australian native plants, capturing their essence in bold, simplified forms using oil pastel. Working quickly and intuitively, she distills each subject to its essential shapes and colours, honouring its character without striving for scientific precision. Her work invites a sense of awe, gratitude, and quiet comfort.
